Empowering women across Malawi
Our programme is a core part of our operations and our goal of helping women to fight the effects of HIV/AIDS by tackling poverty, which is a key driver of HIV/AIDS in Malawi and most parts of the world.
Youth programmes were established in 2015 and now there are 30 youth support groups. They are comprised of girls that are infected and those that are not infected by the virus.
MASYAP’s 31 women’s support groups meet regularly and consist of members that are infected, affected and not affected women.
These routine visits are conducted weekly with the aim of following up on the progress of the groups as well as sensitizing them on the current life-threatening issues like mental health and at the core being the issue of HIV/AIDS
Aside the support group outreach program that are conducted monthly with the aim of empowering the youth in different areas, MASYAP also had a chance to engage the youths to attend a workshop that was hosted by the Malawi Government
