Empowering women across Malawi
Our programme is a core part of our operations and our goal of helping women to fight the effects of HIV/AIDS by tackling poverty, which is a key driver of HIV/AIDS in Malawi and most parts of the world.
Youth programmes were established in 2015 and now there are 30 youth support groups. They are comprised of girls that are infected and those that are not infected by the virus.
MASYAP’s 31 women’s support groups meet regularly and consist of members that are infected, affected and not affected women.
MASYAP also hosted Chairladies’ Meetings, bringing together leaders from various support groups to share experiences, challenges, and best practices.
In September 2025, MASYAP continued its mission to empower women and young mothers across Malawi through financial literacy, business support, and community collaboration.
Recognizing the ongoing food crisis, MASYAP through Road-T-Relief organized food pack donations in two phases to support struggling households.
Nine of our visits focused on routine meetings with members, where we discussed HIV/AIDS and related illnesses, modes of transmission, preventive measures, and home-based care.
In March, MASYAP continued its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities by conducting outreach programs and distributing essential food aid.
Access to clean water is a fundamental right, and thanks to the generous donation from the Muslim World League, Patsani Village in Lunzu now has a borehole benefiting over 400 community members, including nearby villages.
Economic empowerment remains a core focus of our work. We continue to support women in establishing and sustaining income-generating businesses to combat household poverty.
Our youth outreach visits provide a platform for young people to express themselves, share challenges, and support one another.
In our efforts to enhance household well-being, we educate women on the importance of home management. Effective home management involves organizing household resources, including time, money, and energy, to create a comfortable, safe, and happy living environment.
In a significant milestone, MASYAP hosted a Youth Camp for young girls during December. Initially planned for 100 participants, the camp welcomed 150 enthusiastic attendees, exceeding expectations.
