Access to clean water is a fundamental right, and thanks to the generous donation from the Muslim World League, Patsani Village in Lunzu now has a borehole benefiting over 400 community members, including nearby villages.
Prior to this, villagers had to walk long distances to fetch water, posing significant challenges, especially for the elderly. The newly installed borehole, strategically placed near the home of an elderly woman who previously struggled to access water, now ensures:
- Improved health and hygiene through access to safe drinking water
- Prevention of waterborne diseases like cholera
- Reduced burden on women and children who often bear the responsibility of fetching water
During the inauguration, the village chief commended the project, urging community members to use the water source responsibly by avoiding activities like washing clothes and utensils near the borehole to prevent contamination.
