Empowering women across Malawi
Our programme is a core part of our operations and our goal of helping women to fight the effects of HIV/AIDS by tackling poverty, which is a key driver of HIV/AIDS in Malawi and most parts of the world.
Youth programmes were established in 2015 and now there are 30 youth support groups. They are comprised of girls that are infected and those that are not infected by the virus.
MASYAP’s 31 women’s support groups meet regularly and consist of members that are infected, affected and not affected women.
The HIV Testing Services (HTS) were provided in 6 support groups namely; Kanjedza, Kachere, Naperi, Chigumula, Chilomoni and Lunzu with a total of 94 members. The presence of the HTS officers is helping the women to ask questions about Cancer,

After loan disbursement in August, there have been follow-up visits to some of the support groups to see the type of businesses the beneficiaries are running. This assists MASYAP to establish the causes of late repayments.

The Threads Of Care project is expanding. The tailors are able to make a variety of clothing, from school uniforms to lab coats, work suits, maid uniforms, abayas, hijabs and re-usable sanitary pads, not forgetting face masks just to mention

MASYAP received a donation of 500 packs of Qurbani from Muslim World League. The donation was aimed at bringing joy to the members in need of support and allow them to celebrate Eid days free from worrying about how they
