Empowering women across Malawi
Our programme is a core part of our operations and our goal of helping women to fight the effects of HIV/AIDS by tackling poverty, which is a key driver of HIV/AIDS in Malawi and most parts of the world.
Youth programmes were established in 2015 and now there are 30 youth support groups. They are comprised of girls that are infected and those that are not infected by the virus.
MASYAP’s 31 women’s support groups meet regularly and consist of members that are infected, affected and not affected women.
The event was aimed at educating Muslim women on the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS to meet one of the core objectives of MASYAP.
In the year 2017, MASYAP has managed to include all of its support groups on the loan scheme due to its successful running in the year.
Youth groups met to share experiences and discuss issues affecting their support groups in their various areas.
The MASYAP Youth drama competition was conducted to encourage performing arts as a way of spreading HIV/AIDS messages to the popular masses.
The 2017 Women’s Annual General Meeting was held on 7th October 2017 at IQRA Propagation centre in Blantyre.
Netball matches were scheduled in respective areas and the final four teams met at Bangwe Youth Centre Ground for the Semi-final matches.
The program was aimed at training women on how to manage their businesses and finances.

MASYAP played a friendly netball game against Chichiri Prison on Saturday 23 July 2016 at the Chichiri prison ground. Seven girls were picked from MASYAP’s numerous youth group netball teams around the Blantyre region and their fellow youth group members followed to support them. The MASYAP team won the game
