Last week, MASYAP visited Nchalo, to the south of Blantyre, in order to conduct HIV testing. Our Support Group Coordinator and our Youth and HTC Officer both talked to the women about HIV, before giving a small quiz on the information that they had learned.
Everyone made sure to emphasise the importance of getting tested and knowing your status, especially in light of the 90-90-90 target, where the aim is that 90% of people should know their status, 90% of those who are HIV positive should be on treatment, and 90% of those on treatment should have a surpressed viral load.
After the talk, testing began and in total 47 women were tested. It was an extremely successful day, and MASYAP would like to thank all those who made it possible.
