Empowering women across Malawi
Our programme is a core part of our operations and our goal of helping women to fight the effects of HIV/AIDS by tackling poverty, which is a key driver of HIV/AIDS in Malawi and most parts of the world.
Youth programmes were established in 2015 and now there are 30 youth support groups. They are comprised of girls that are infected and those that are not infected by the virus.
MASYAP’s 31 women’s support groups meet regularly and consist of members that are infected, affected and not affected women.
This meeting was held with the aim of equipping the chairladies with correct information about HIV/AIDS and all MASYAP objectives, updating on new programmes, knowing how the support groups are conducting themselves in the absence of the officials from the
MASYAP donated 49 re-usable sanitary pads to school-going MASYAP youth members on 5th May 2021. The donation was aimed at helping school going girls so that they do not skip school when they are menstruating. We also took this opportunity
World Muslim League donated packs of maize flour (Ufa) to MASYAP women as we were approaching Eid celebration. The donation was aimed at supporting the women with food. MASYAP has approximately 1500 and 1000 members in women support groups and
MASYAP, through its tailoring project, Threads Of Care donated 186 abayas to women and 105 to girls on 11th May, 2021. The donation was aimed at providing new clothes to vulnerable MASYAP members to wear on Eid.
MASYAP has donated 150 food packs to members in all support groups. The food packs were aimed at supporting the MASYAP members with food during the month of Ramadhan. 150 members from different support groups benefited from the donation. The
