August 24, 2024, MASYAP’s HTS provider participated in a workshop that was organized by Umunthu Foundation that explored the policy and legal aspects of Sexual Reproductive Health Services (SRHS). This workshop provided an overview of the current policy and legal landscape and its impact on access to SRH services among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW). Topics included family planning, obstetric fistula care, post-abortion care, and sexual education. Access to these services contributes to increased rates of intended pregnancies, which are associated with numerous positive outcomes, such as healthier birth weights, higher likelihoods of breastfeeding, prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), early detection of reproductive cancers, and enhanced sexual education.
