MASYAP at a workshop on sexual and reproductive health policy
Our HIV testing provider attended an Umunthu Foundation workshop on the laws and policies affecting young women’s access to sexual and reproductive health services.
On 24 August 2024, MASYAP’s HIV testing provider took part in a workshop organised by Umunthu Foundation on the policy and legal aspects of sexual and reproductive health services.
The workshop reviewed current policy and law and how it affects access to these services for adolescent girls and young women. Topics included family planning, obstetric fistula care, post-abortion care and sex education.
Access to these services means more pregnancies are planned, which brings many benefits: healthier birth weights, more breastfeeding, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, earlier detection of reproductive cancers and better sex education.
