MASYAP remains committed to contributing to national and global efforts aimed at ending the HIV epidemic. Throughout May, HIV Testing Services (HTS) were integrated into outreach activities to ensure community members had access to quality HIV prevention and care services.

HTS serves as the critical entry point to HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support. The services include pre-test counseling, HIV testing, post-test counseling, and linkage to appropriate prevention or treatment services.

The overall goal of HTS is to support the achievement of the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets:

  • 95% of people living with HIV knowing their status.
  • 95% of those diagnosed receiving sustained treatment.
  • 95% of those on treatment achieving viral suppression.

MASYAP delivers HTS through two service models:

Facility-Based Testing

Community members voluntarily visit the MASYAP office to access confidential HIV counseling and testing services.

Community-Based Testing

MASYAP outreach teams provide HIV testing services directly within communities through mobile tents and outreach locations, making services more accessible to vulnerable populations.

By bringing HIV services closer to communities, MASYAP continues to promote early diagnosis, increase awareness, and facilitate timely access to treatment and prevention services.

Looking Ahead

The activities conducted during May 2026 reflect MASYAP’s continued commitment to empowering vulnerable communities through economic empowerment, health services, youth and women development, and humanitarian assistance. Through strategic partnerships and community-centered interventions, MASYAP remains dedicated to improving lives, strengthening resilience, and creating sustainable opportunities for women, youth, and families across Malawi.
