From 24th to 27th December 2025, we successfully conducted a Youth Camp at Mai Halima Secondary School in Chisitu, Mulanje District, bringing together adolescent girls in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. The camp was designed to equip girls with knowledge, confidence, and essential life skills during a period when they are often exposed to increased social risks.
Held under the theme “Safe Spaces, Strong Girls,” the camp emphasized the importance of creating environments where girls feel physically and emotionally secure. We were honoured to have Sister Marriam James as our Guest of Honour, whose inspiring message encouraged the girls to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to achieving their goals.
Through structured sessions and mentorship, we provided safe spaces that allowed participants to freely express themselves, build supportive peer networks, and gain guidance from trusted female role models. Within this nurturing environment, we focused on strengthening girls’ confidence, leadership, resilience, and awareness of their rights, including issues related to gender-based violence and personal decision-making.
By creating safe spaces, we nurtured strong girls—mentally, socially, and economically—equipping them with the skills and agency needed to navigate challenges, challenge limiting norms, and build a foundation for a confident and empowered future.
