Aisha Billy from Bangwe nvula MASYAP support group in Blantyre District is now a holder of Diploma in nursing and midwifery Technician obtained from ST Joseph collage of health sciences from October 2019 to April 2023. She has benefited from the school fees programme from secondary through to tertiary education.
The aim of the bursary scheme has been to improve access to secondary education for vulnerable but gifted students and to therefore improve their life opportunities. At the moment, there are 30 beneficiaries on the bursary programme that are working hard in chasing their dreams so that they can attain a brighter future for themselves as well as their respective communities at large. The youth coordinator, Fatima Hassan revealed that Aisha’s graduation has motivated other support group members to work extra hard and that sitting for Malawi School Certificate of education is not the end of the road. There is need for the girls to go further with their studies
