Microfinance training with Opportunity International, then new loans
83 women from 19 support groups attended two days of business and savings training with Opportunity International before receiving their loans.
On 8 and 9 February 2021, MASYAP and Opportunity International ran two days of microfinance training for members on the loan and savings programme. The aim was to strengthen members financially and give them business management and saving skills.
Who attended
- 8 February: 40 of 44 expected members, from Kameza, Machinjiri, Lunzu, Alasala, Chilomoni, Chiradzulu, Mpemba, Mtendere, Mvula and BCA.
- 9 February: 43 of 44 expected members, from Chiwembe, Chigumula, Namiyango, Makungwa, Mkwate, Kachere, Kumwembe, Ndirande and Chemusa.
A week later, MASYAP gave loans to the women who had completed the training.
