MASYAP exhibits at Blantyre’s World AIDS Day commemoration
Blantyre City Council invited MASYAP to exhibit at its World AIDS Day 2014 event, where we presented our microfinance research and support group work to the Mayor.
Blantyre City Council invited MASYAP to take part in its commemoration of World AIDS Day 2014 at Manje CCAP ground. The day-long event included speeches by the Mayor of Blantyre and the guest of honour, Mr Michael Usi, testimonies from people living with HIV, dramas by local activist groups, and performances by a youth karate group, Chichiri prisoners and Gule Wamkulu dancers.
Our exhibit
MASYAP exhibited alongside organisations including Gift of the Givers, Blantyre Police, the National AIDS Commission and Johns Hopkins. We presented our research paper on microfinance and our support group work to the Mayor and Mr Usi.
The chairladies of all 19 MASYAP support groups at the time attended to represent the organisation.
