Community Peer Educator training on HIV Prevention, Treatment and Care Report

Umuthu Foundation (UMUFO), a human rights and HIV NGO organized Community Peer Educator training on HIV Prevention, Treatment and Care under the Blantyre Cities Fast Track Project in collaboration with the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition-Global Team (ITPC-IAPAC) which took place at Amaryllis Hotel, Blantyre from Tuesday, 2nd to Thursday, 4th of March 2021. Being one of the HIV/AIDS NGOs, Umunthu Foundation took an initiative to invite MASYAP to be part of the Training.

The objective of the training

  • To strengthen the capacity of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) communities to promote equality HIV prevention, care, treatment and support services in fast-track cities.

Main Body

There were four facilitators: MRS Hellen Etiya’ale Program officer of International Treatment Preparedness Coalition-Global Team (ITPC), based in Botswana.  We had Mr. Bactrin Kilingo who is also working with ITPC is based in Kenya. We also had MRS Jenifer Zimba a representative from ministry of health. Mr. Michael Alibi from IAPAC   based in Malawi and Mr. David Odali from UMUFO he is based in Malawi.
